ADDITIONAL SUPPORT NEEDS (ASN)
As parents of a child with autism and other family members with additional needs, we are very passionate about equality and inclusion.
Our centre is friendly, welcoming and accommodating to all walks of life. We will help in any way possible to make sure your family’s experience is as anxious free as it can be.
Our members of staff have great experience interacting with people with additional needs and are always happy to help.
On arrival if you feel comfortable telling us, we ask what condition your child has to ensure that our staff are fully educated on what needs are required. If it is a condition that we may not have heard of, we make it our goal to educate ourselves further on the condition.
WEEKLY SESSIONS
Our centre offers two ASN sessions per week, every week of the year. We want to make sure that children who feel anxious when the centre is busy have a time that they can come and play in a more relaxed atmosphere.
This is a private session and the children have the use of the full facility including our sensory room.
SENSORY ROOM
Our sensory room is equipped with various sensory toys, a dark den, a bubble tube lamp, balancing boards, weighted blanket and bubble mirrors.
If required we have ear defenders if your child forgets their own.
VISUAL AIDS
We have visual aids around the centre to try and help the children that require use of them.
The visual aids represent specific areas of the soft play, right through to instructions for washing hands and doing the toilet.
To the best of our ability we have created a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for families with children with additional support needs. We always inspire to make improvements; therefore, we welcome any suggestions that will help us with this.
